Spring Break officially began and ended in Italy! We arrived to Pisa, Italy and took a 3 hour train to The Cinque Terra region in the north which is known as the Italian Riveria. Carisa visited The Cinque Terra, translated to 5 villages, and raved about her experience there.
We found our hotel in Village #1 and took a train to Village #5. What is very special and unique about the area is that there is a hiking trail that connects all the villages together that runs along the coastal mountainside and weaves you through some vineyards.
The hike itself took a little over 4 hours with additional one hour for photo opportunities! In my mind, these villages look like vintage Italy and the places we stopped sure felt like it. We had capri sandwhich's on thick foccacia for lunch, strong cafe's, and an Easter Seafood Buffet as a capper!
We stayed and toured the villages for two days and had very pleasant weather which was unexpected as the forecast called for showers. I would highly recommend this stop to anyone wanting to visit the region.
