Round Two...

I made another trip to Ghent over the weekend and have developed such a fondness for this medieval town. The feeling is quite different than Bruge (English Spelling and Dutch Spelling is Brugge) and it has more of a rugged charm to it.

Ghent was once at the center of the silk trade and one of the riches city of Europe during the Middle Ages. It became a prominent city again with during the Industrial Revolution.

Around the market center were little cafes and they had a very inviting feeling. I finally stopped into one for a white coffee and was not disappointed :) Kacy is posing (happily) along the Graslei which is one of the most scenic places in Ghent's old city centre. There is something about the water that brings a calmness to me and I felt that when standing on a bridge overlooking a canal. The top picture was at the train station and the moment caught my eye.
